Cabbi Driver safety measures

  • Card payments

    Card payments are safer in the sense that driver prepare people with card payment because they are easily traceable. Card payment also help drivers with not carrying cash around in case they is robberies.

  • Verification

    One True Pairing is a verification process used to check if the rider that’s signing up has the number that is RICA’d. Facebook is also available for riders to use as a signing up tool, which can be used to link the rider’s Facebook profile when incidences happen.

  • None payment insurance

    Drivers face an issue of riders not paying the full amount or not paying at all, so they turn to worry about if they will get their payment from the app. Cabbi will introduce an insurance for none payments and fraudulent payments that will put less weight on the drivers worries if the rider doesn’t pay.


The pay cycle runs from Monday to the following Monday. Earnings statement and payment is typically in your account by Wednesday or Thursday of each week. Depending on your bank’s processing time, the funds should take between 1 - 2 business days to reflect in your account.

Checking balance

The drivers account balance is under “Payment statement” tab on the home screen of the Cabbi driver app. You can select different weeks also to see the previous week’s revenue.


The Cabbi driver app may experience technical issues with both the Cabbi driver app and rider app are installed in one phone. Also make sure your app is always the latest version.

If technical issues are experienced:
• Restart your device • Update your app • Upgrade your phone operating system • Reinstall the app
Technical Issues during a ride:
If the app crashes, restart your device. Travel information is available on our servers, and you don't need to worry about the ride cancelling because of a restart. • If restarting your phone doesn't solve the issue, agree on a reasonable price with the rider. Take into account the distance and duration of the ride and then request price review. If you need further assistance to resolve a technical issue, please contact our Support Team via the app.
Cancellation Fee
Cancellation fee is not applicable in Johannesburg and Pretoria as yet. But will be added as time progresses.
After the trip is complete the driver is given an opportunity to rate the rider/passenger based on the nature of the trip. Ratings are from 1 to 5 stars, with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the greatest. The comment section is provided to give further details on the trip. Become a driver

Signing up can be done in three easy steps:

• Online, Walk-in or emailing documents • Training and Vehicle Inspection • Verification and activation
